Dog Boarding and Daycare Terms

Hours of Operation

Our boarding and daycare services operate from 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM. All pickups and drop-offs for boarding and daycare must occur within these hours. Please note that this policy does not apply to pet visits, pet taxi services, or house sitting arrangements.

Boarding Drop-off/Pick-up Windows

Monday - Saturday: 7:30 AM - 7:30 PM

Sunday: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Boarding Drop-off/Pick-up Policies

All pickup/drop off times are agreed to typically the day prior or at booking. Please ensure that drop-offs and pick-ups occur at your scheduled time. We stagger all pick-up/drop-off times with other clients to ensure each dog has the chance to take their time to slowly get to know the other dogs before a new pup arrives. Arriving more than 15 minutes LATE, will result in a $10 fee. We ask that if you arrive early to please wait in your vehicle until your scheduled drop off time. If you are more than an hour late, a $25 fee will apply and your booking may be subject to cancellation. For pick-ups, if you're more than an hour late, you may need to pick up the following day, which will be charged as an additional night at $45. All pick-ups and drop-offs for your dog are conducted curbside. Please wait in your vehicle and message us once you have arrived. PLEASE DO NOT KNOCK OR RING THE DOORBELL as this excites the dogs and we sometimes have a sleeping baby.

Vaccination Requirements

In the interest of safeguarding all pets, we mandate the following vaccinations: Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, Bordetella (every 6 months), and Canine Flu (recommended but not obligatory).

Flea and Tick Policy

Please note that we board and care for multiple dogs at the same time. While we take precautions to maintain a clean and pest-free facility, it is important to recognize the inherent risk of dogs being around other dogs. We highly recommend that all dogs staying at our facility be on a flea and tick preventative before arrival. Happy Hoomans is not responsible for any fleas or ticks that your dog may contract while staying with us. We regularly spray and treat our lawn to help prevent pests and our personal dogs are consistently kept on a flea and tick preventative as well.

Admission Requirements

All dogs must be up to date on the required vaccinations. We do not accept female dogs in heat for boarding or daycare services.

Assumption of Risk

Pet owners acknowledge the potential for stress or illness in pets, particularly those grappling with health issues or undergoing transitions, during our services. Consequently, owners bear responsibility for any ensuing medical expenditures. While boarding, there may be intervals where pets are secured but unsupervised. Our facility is not equipped with a fire sprinkler system, but there are multiple fire extinguishers on the premises.

Crating Policy

For the safety and comfort of all boarded dogs, crating will be implemented between the hours of 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Crating will also be implemented during designated periods throughout the day when staff steps away. This policy is in place to ensure the safety and well-being of all dogs under our care and to prevent any potential incidents or accidents. Dogs are not allowed to roam without supervision to maintain a secure and controlled environment. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation regarding this matter.

Additional Fees

In the event of a flea or tick infestation, a $50 charge will be added to your invoice and a flea bath will be administered. In the event that the owner fails to provide sufficient food during boarding, we reserve the right to provide food at the owner's expense. Additionally, we cannot accept liability for any allergies or adverse reactions caused by food provided during the boarding period.

Pet Sitting Visits and Dog Walks

Property Damage Liability

While we take utmost care to ensure the safety and security of your property during house-sitting assignments, we cannot accept responsibility for damages unless they are a result of sitter negligence. Any damages incurred due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, such as natural disasters or mechanical failures, are not within our liability. We recommend clients to have appropriate insurance coverage to safeguard against such events. However, in the event of damage caused by sitter negligence, we will take full responsibility and work to rectify the situation to the best of our ability.

Pet Escape Liability

While we take every precaution to ensure the safety and security of your pets during house-sitting assignments and visits, we cannot accept responsibility for pets escaping your home unless it is a result of sitter negligence. Our sitters are trained to adhere to strict protocols to prevent pets from escaping, including ensuring all doors and gates are securely closed and latched. However, in the event of a pet escaping due to sitter negligence, we will take full responsibility. Clients are encouraged to provide clear instructions and inform us of any potential escape routes or concerns to mitigate risks.

Exclusion of Liability for External Dog Attacks

While we prioritize the safety and well-being of your pet during dog walks, we cannot accept liability for incidents involving attacks from external dogs. Despite our best efforts to maintain control and vigilance, unforeseen encounters with other animals may occur. In the event that another dog initiates an attack on your pet while under our care, we will take immediate action to ensure the safety of all animals involved. However, we cannot be held responsible for the actions of external parties or their pets. We strongly encourage pet owners to ensure their pets are properly socialized and trained to minimize the risk of such incidents. Additionally, clients are advised to consider pet insurance to mitigate any potential financial implications arising from such events.

Alarms

For the efficiency of our pet sitting services, we require that the alarm code be kept on file in advance if the system is armed. This ensures our pet sitter can access your home without any delays or complications. Having the code on file allows the sitter to enter and exit without the need for extra communication each time.

Keys

To ensure both the safety of your home and the security of your pets, we do no accept or hold onto client keys. Instead, we kindly request that you provide access to your home via one of the following methods: pin pad, hidden key, lock box with a key inside.

Visit Times

While we always aim to arrive as close as possible to the scheduled time, visits may occur within a one-hour window before or after the scheduled time. This flexibility allows us to accommodate unforeseen circumstances such as traffic, last-minute requests, or unexpected clean-ups from prior visits. If you have any specific time constraints or concerns, please let us know in advance, and we'll do our best to accommodate your needs.

Team Member Assignment

While the person you meet during your initial consultation may not be the one to perform every visit, rest assured that all members of our team are fully certified, background-checked, and drug-tested to ensure your pets receive safe, professional care. We understand how important it is to feel comfortable with the people caring for your pets. If you trust me with the care of your pets, please trust my team as well. Each team member follows the same high standards of care and attention, so you can be confident that your pets are in good hands, no matter who arrives. If you have any concerns or would like to know more about the specific team member assigned to your visits, please don't hesitate to reach out.
