Q: Why should I choose home-style dog boarding over a traditional kennel?
A: 1. Home-like environment: Your dog stays in a cozy, homey atmosphere rather than a sterile facility.
Personalized attention: Dogs receive more one-on-one care, ensuring their individual needs are met.
Social interaction: Your dog gets more social time with other dogs and staff, leading to a more relaxed experience.
Lower stress levels: The calm, comfortable setting of home-style boarding helps minimize the anxiety often associated with larger, noisy kennel environments.
Thorough updates: We provide regular updates so you can stay informed about your dog’s well-being.
Stronger bonds: Staff members build closer relationships with the dogs, which can make your dog feel more at ease and cared for.
Q: Where is Happy Hoomans Dog Boarding located?
A: Happy Hoomans Dog Boarding is located in Princeton, Texas.
Q: How are pick-ups and drop-offs managed?
A: All pick-ups and drop-offs for your dog are conducted curbside. If you'd like, we also offer transportation services at an additional cost. Please wait in your vehicle and message us once you have arrived. PLEASE DO NOT KNOCK OR RING THE DOORBELL as this excites the dogs and we sometimes have a sleeping baby. We require all dogs to be on a leash at drop off!
Q: What facilities are available for my dog?
A: Your furry friend will enjoy a spacious half-acre fenced backyard, complete with pools, toys, and an agility course. Our "Bark Barn" offers a cozy, climate-controlled space for relaxation and playtime.
Q: When can I drop off and pick up my dog?
A: Monday - Friday: 7:30 AM - 7:30 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Sunday: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
***All pickup/drop off times are agreed to typically the day prior or at booking. Please ensure that drop-offs and pick-ups occur at your scheduled time. We stagger all pick-up/drop-off times with other clients to ensure each dog has the chance to take their time to slowly get to know the other dogs before a new pup arrives. Arriving more than 15 minutes LATE, will result in a $10 fee. We ask that if you arrive early to please wait in your vehicle until your scheduled drop off time. If you are more than an hour late, a $25 fee will apply and your booking may be subject to cancellation. For pick-ups, if you're more than an hour late, you may need to pick up the following day, which will be charged as an additional night at $45.***
Q: Do you provide food for dogs?
A: We require owners to provide food for their dogs. If you are unable to bring food, we offer Purina Dog Chow for an additional $5 per day.
Q: What happens if my dog gets sick during their stay?
A: If your dog becomes sick or exhibits aggressive behavior, we will immediately contact you or your designated emergency contact for pickup. In case of a life-threatening emergency, we will rush your dog to the nearest 24-hour vet clinic. The safety and well-being of all our guests are our top priorities.
Q: How many dogs do you host at a time?
A: We are a home-style boarding facility that hosts up to 6 dogs at a time.
Q: Where do the dogs stay?
A: Dogs have their own room, which we call the "Bark Barn." It is a fully renovated, fully insulated 3-car garage with air conditioning and heating. The Bark Barn also has access to the backyard, bedding, water, entertainment, and plenty of company. Rest assured, your dog will receive plenty of pets and cuddles throughout their stay.
Q: Where do the dogs sleep during their stay?
A: All dogs are required to sleep in a crate for their safety and comfort. Crates provide a secure and familiar environment for dogs, helping them feel more at ease during their stay. Each dog is assigned a crate for the duration of their visit. If your dog is not used to sleeping in a crate, we can help acclimate them before their stay.
Q: What is the pricing for boarding your dog?
A: Our standard rate is $45 per night for one dog. For each additional dog, the cost is $30 per night.
Q: What are the admission requirements?
A: In the interest of safeguarding all pets, we mandate the following vaccinations: Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, Bordetella (every 6 months), and Canine Flu (recommended but not obligatory). We highly recommend that all dogs staying at our facility be on a flea and tick preventative before arrival. All dogs must be up to date on the required vaccinations. We do not accept female dogs in heat for boarding or daycare services.
Q: Can we tour where the dogs stay?
A: We do not offer in-person tours of the facility. As this is our home and we prefer to maintain a secure and calm environment. Additionally, when we have dogs in our care, we focus on keeping things as low-stress as possible, which includes minimizing the introduction of new people to avoid any anxiety for the dogs. Many of the owners that choose for their dogs to stay here choose this home-like environment because they are more comfortable in a familiar, private setting.
That said, we are happy to provide photos and videos of the space to give you a clear picture of the surroundings.
Q: What should I bring?
A: Please bring the following items for your dog's stay:
Food (preferably in a labeled container)
Collar with identification tags
Medications (with clear dosage instructions)
Treats (optional)
Please note: The following items are NOT accepted:
Bedding
Bowls
Bones
